When I go downtown from time to time I like to end my tour eating delicious food and sometimes it is not easy to find options that I love so I took on the task of making a list where I want to share with you my favorite restaurants in the historic center of Mexico City where you will find good food, good atmosphere and I am sure that you will enjoy a pleasant afternoon.

Miralto

If you are looking for a place to go for a drink and have one of the most spectacular views in the city, Miralto is an incredible option. It is located on the 41st floor of the Torre Latinoamericana and is ideal to go with friends before or after exploring the historic center.

Historic Blue

Located in a beautiful colonial courtyard, this restaurant offers an experience that combines tradition and modernity. Some of their famous moles or seasonal dishes like chiles en nogada. The bohemian atmosphere and decoration make the food even more special. Every time I go I love to order the venison tzic that reminds me of my Yucatan.

Cha Cha Cha Terrace

Ideal for enjoying contemporary Mexican dishes with a creative twist. With privileged views of the Monument to the Revolution, it is perfect for relaxed meals or sunset cocktails. My favorite is the aguachiles, but be careful because they are very spicy!

Its menu includes unique options like duck flautas with black mole and fresh fish tacos. Plus, its casual atmosphere and happy hour promotions make it an ideal stop for tourists and locals alike.

The Cardinal

Since 1969, this restaurant has been delighting diners with authentic Mexican food. It is famous for its breakfasts, especially its homemade bread and dairy products. You can also enjoy everything from escamoles to Oaxacan mole.

Arango

A restaurant in the Tabacalera neighborhood, known for its focus on contemporary Mexican cuisine with creative touches. The restaurant has an elegant touch and a spectacular view facing the Monument to the Revolution, offering stunning views of the city, especially attractive during sunset. The food is inspired by the roots of different regions of the country, combining local ingredients in innovative dishes.

Among my favorites are the Arabic-style lamb tacos and the roasted pumpkin in green mole.

Almsmen

This restaurant stands out for its focus on local products and contemporary techniques. With an elegant design, it is ideal for those looking for a different gastronomic experience, full of creativity. You can't miss it when visiting the historic center in CDMX.
