Long Weekend in CDMX: Things to Do (With My Sister)

CDMX

As many of you know, I am originally from Mérida but I have lived in Mexico City for almost 4 years. A few days ago my sister Michelle came to visit me and I wanted her to have an incredible time and get to know the city as much as possible for a long weekend. The last time Michelle was in CDMX was 18 years ago, so my job as a tourist guide for my sister had to be impeccable.

So I thought I would share with you everything we did and if you come to visit CDMX get an idea of places cool that you can't miss.

Read my latest article where I tell you What to do in Panama City.

Saturday: Lunch Time

My sister arrived early and ready to explore the city. The first thing we did was go out to eat and then we went to walk through the streets of Polanco. We had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants called You turn on, it is ideal for tapas and drinking wine.

We walked along Av. Masaryk and ended our day drinking cocktails in Polanquito.

Sunday: Tourist Mode

We start our day with some delicious breads Rosetta Bakery. My sister loves bread and it was a mandatory stop before our walk to the historic center of CDMX.

We drank warm mocha and guava rolls. Michelle said it was the most delicious bread she has ever eaten.

Paseo De La Reforma, Fine Arts

We walked along Reforma Avenue, which is the main street of the city until we reached the center. The truth is that it was a pleasant walk since on Sundays they close the streets for the bicycle route and I love walking without traffic.

Center

If it is your first time visiting CDMX yes or yes you have to visit La Catedral and Bellas Artes. We went to Correos de México, which is located in an incredible house and we also walked along Madero Street. We also visited the Templo Mayor archaeological zone of Mexico-Tenochtitlan and on Sundays it is free.

House of tiles

Our photo could not be missing in this cool spot. La Casa De Los Azulejos is located near the Latin American tower and you can have a coffee outside. It's a Samborns.

Lunch time

I wanted Michelle to try different things so we took her to Kiin Thai-Viet, one of my restaurants top of Thai/Vietnamese food.

Some drinks

In the morning we visited the historic center and in the afternoon we went to one of the most beautiful restaurants. cool and modern.

The restaurant and bar called Samos It has an impressive view of the city since it is located on the 36th floor of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, one of the tallest skyscrapers in CDMX. First we were at the bar and later we had dinner, we ate some delicious barbacoa tacos.

Good Morning Sunny Monday

In the morning we went to the restaurant on the terrace of the Four Seasons to gossip. Zanaya It is one of my favorite places because in addition to the food being super delicious, the garden and the location are beautiful.

We ate an aguachile, some vacuum taquitos and had a very pleasant afternoon. We made a video call with my mother and talked for hours.

Later, that day

We went to the apartment to change our heels and went for a walk in Parque España. I love it because it is always full of dogs playing and it is perfect for walking and having a coffee since there are several restaurants cute around.

In our case we went for a cocktail at a Gin Gin that crossed our path. We had a great time and Michelle ordered a very delicious drink with blackberries.

Delicious dinner

At night we went to Lardo. I always tell Michelle it's one of my favorite restaurants and it's also where I met my boyfriend. We ordered the burrata which is super creamy, parma ham croquettes, a burger and a pizza, all incredibly delicious. Oh and we couldn't miss our bottle of rosé.

Tourist Tuesday

This day Michelle was not feeling spectacular and I think she was raw. Even so, we had an itinerary to follow and a city to explore so we started the day visiting El Castillo de Chapultepec. Admission costs $80 mxn.

As we climbed the hill where the castle is located, Michelle was silent. I think maybe he was feeling bad but the incredible photos we took lifted his spirits.

We went home to shower and change to go eat at my favorite restaurant in CDMX and if you want to know more about it, read my article where I tell you.

Maximo Bistro

We arrived to Maximo Bistro and we started with appetizers, then we ordered several things from the center to share and everything was delicious. Luckily Michelle was already feeling better and was able to enjoy our lunch.

After our meal we went to a rooftop near our house called Palmares Roof by bubbles.

Wednesday: Michelle's Last Day in CDMX

The first thing we did that morning was go for a walk through La Condesa, Parque España and Parque México since Michelle liked to watch the dogs play.

We had a light breakfast at Maque and we continued walking around the parks for a little while until we got hungry and from there we went to lunch.

Contramar

To close with a flourish we went for fresh and delicious food at Contramar. Michelle wanted to try the iconic tuna tostadas and strawberry meringue pie. Everything was delicious and it was sunny and ideal for eating fish.

The King Cole Bar

We finished Michelle's vacation at the Bar del St Regis which has a very cool view of Paseo de la Reforma. Plus, we are in the jacaranda season and it looked doubly cool.

I think Michelle had a great time and I can't wait for her to come back to show her other places cool of the city that I couldn't on this trip. Do you have any recommendations? please write it in the comments.

We love you so much Mich <3

I'm impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog that's both equally educational
and interesting, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.

The issue is something too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy that I found this during my search for something relating to this.
