Amber Alcocer CDMX is the capital so it's not surprising that it is also one of the most colorful and vibrant places in the country. As a visitor or resident, you will always find something to entertain you, you can go to museums, galleries, parks, cafes, bars and do many other activities to fill your day. When I moved to CDMX, what I loved the most was the great variety of delicious and beautiful restaurants that I found around the area where I live. But there are nice corners all over the city, so I made a list of what I consider the most Instagrammable restaurants in CDMX. Arango
This restaurant is located in the heart of Mexico City. Arango is a restaurant with a terrace located in the historic centre with a wonderful view of the Monument of the Revolution. It is the ideal place to go after a day of sightseeing in the city centre to have a few cocktails and a snack.
Isabella Cafe
Isabella Café is the pinkest place in town. I thought the place would be pretty but I had low expectations for the food, however, I really liked my pink Swiss enchiladas. The cutlery and food containers are very photogenic. Without a doubt it's super cute, ideal for an afternoon chatting with friends. It's the perfect spot to take pictures, I recommend you arrive a little earlier than planned as you can't make reservations and most of the time there is a waiting list. There are 2 Isabella Café, one in Roma Norte and one in Condesa.
Pigeon
Pigeon is a small art deco restaurant located in Roma Norte, in front of the Rio de Janeiro park. The design is somewhere between a French bistro and a tavern and I love the pink colour palette, plus the food is exquisite. Not only will you eat delicious food, but you'll also be able to take some very unique photos for your instagram.
Mandolina
Mandolina is a very photogenic restaurant located in Polanco. Without a doubt, visiting this place transported me to Positano in Italy. I loved the decoration with lemons. I went for breakfast with my friend and we had a great time chatting for hours. We ordered poached eggs, eggs casserole, different breads, hot chocolate, orange juice and prosecco.
Zanaya
Zanaya is one of my favourite places to eat, besides the nice restaurant inside, it has a great terrace where you can have a very nice evening. It is located in Reforma inside the Four Seasons Hotel. We love to start with an Aperol Spritz and in my case I like to choose several things to nibble and share. There is also a little secret garden ideal for taking pictures.
Salon Rosetta
Salon Rosetta is a bar, located in the same building as the Rosetta restaurant on Colima Street, Roma Norte. You have to go up a few stairs to find it. The wallpaper decoration with Japanese prints, the colour of the room combined with the furniture, makes this place very photogenic. Definitely one of my favourites to go for drinks and to take pictures.
Samos
Samos is a new restaurant and bar in the city. It is located on the 38th floor of the Ritz Carlton hotel in Reforma. What makes this place unique are the breathtaking panoramic views of Mexico City. You can see the helicopters flying below. The bar is very cosy and part of the decor is the view, which makes it the perfect place to take some photos for your Instagram. The Samos restaurant is opposite the bar and also has very nice views.
I recommend that when you visit Bar Samos, try the tacos. In the Samos restaurant, what I loved the most were the appetizers which are perfect for sharing.
Casa Prunes
Casa Prunes is located in Roma Norte and the façade of this place has an Art Nouveau style. The interiors are colourful and very photogenic. It has a large bar, an outdoor garden and everything is nicely designed, even the bathroom. It also has a speakeasy ideal for evening cocktails.
Casa Olympia
Olympia House opened its doors just two months ago (November 2021). Located in Polanco, in my opinion it is one of the nicest restaurants I have ever visited. The cocktails are delicious and the food is very good. Every corner is beautiful and has a touch of decoration that makes this place the most instagrammable on my list.
The bar is beautiful and has different rooms, all with different decorations. It's ideal for an evening with friends drinking rosé wine and chatting. The food is designed for sharing so you can try a lot of things. The food is mostly Mediterranean.
Ling Ling
Ling Ling is the highest restaurant in the city. It is located on the 56th floor of the tallest building in Reforma, CDMX. The food is Asian-inspired, fusing Cantonese cuisine and other oriental cultures and is delicious. What I like most is that the dishes are designed for sharing. Without a doubt the view is spectacular and it is an ideal place to spend a pleasant evening with friends. Besides, the photos are amazing.
The bar at the entrance is stunning, but there are also tables outside, in my case I prefer to dine indoors.
Bella Aurora
Recently opened in September 2022 by Chef Elena Reygada, Bella Aurora is a beautiful restaurant, besides the food is delicious, it is ideal to spend a nice time with your partner or friends.
It is located on Puebla Street, Roma Norte. It is decorated with plants, you can hear birds and you forget you are in the city. It is undoubtedly a very photogenic restaurant but the best thing is that the food is spectacular, you have to try the desserts.
